Hey all! I remember reading a forum post about this before, however I have looked and cannot find it! Does anyone have an update as to why VS75 (and 76) is changing from the 330 to the 747 for flights between (I think) Aug 24 and Sep 2?

The odd thing is when on MMB, I noticed over the last month that the aircraft type has fluctuated from 747 to 340 and back!

Any info? Thanks :D

Hi and welcome.

While no official announcement of reason has been given by VS, it is most likely because one of the A330's is due for maintenance so they are putting a 747 on to cover. Also been it is still peak time for MCO flights and maybe VS have decided that the 75/76 is in most need of a 747 on those dates rather than the other flights that use the A330

And the schools in Scotalnd will have already gone back prior to the Late Summer Bank Holiday

I've flown this route at similar times before and I've noticed empty seats in Economy. PE is usually full but obviously less seats! As mentioned schools have returned or are about to do so, and Orlando is considerably quieter in September after Labor Day. All of this makes me wonder if it's to do with pax numbers. Obviously could still be to do with maintenance!

I wondered if anyone had any clue as to why 346s might appear as operating the route on MMB? Has there ever been any of the LHR fleet operating from MAN (as substituted aircraft)?

Likely won't find out till you can check in online! I fly the 2nd September which just falls into the week or so where aircraft type appears to be up in the air! Before an after that it is the 330 for VS75.

Being that the flight time is shorter during that period, I imagine it's going to be a 4 engine aircraft? Likely a 747, but who knows!
