VS005 Aircraft Type

Hi,

I'm flying 005 on the 4th October and online seat allocation shows a 747 Vers 4.
Do you think this will be definite? Lately I notice that the flight has mainly gone with an Airbus?
There seems to be alot of availability showing 9s in all ticket classes.

Do they change the flight a lot from 747 to Airbus on this route??
Also for the return the seat allocation seems to be locked. It's showing my seats, but unable to change them (again flight is not full)

The seat plan that's showing now is never a guarantee that it will be that aircraft on the day. That said, VA normally know what aircraft type should be running on that day so it would be more likely to be correct than otherwise.

That route does change aircraft during the year, I'm assuming down to general pax numbers and seasonal time.

Regarding your seat plan for the return flight, when are you returning? With the current system upgrades, or if it's not within 90 days of today, that may be the reason for you not being able to change anything.

The VS5 from time to time operates different aircraft on different days of the week but it would seem that for the beginning of October they are using the 747

Stuart, it's 19 Oct so well within that 90 days. I selected the inbound seats the day I booked, last week, but now when I go in to Manage My Booking, it shows the seats we selected but the rest of the A/C is greyed out with no option to change. Weird!

Don't mind the 747's out of LHR with VPort, just the seating config is better on the 333 as we maybe could get 2 + 2 windows, rather than the claustrophobic 4 in the middle

Sounds to me like the 60% seat allocation may have already

been filled, in which case the rest of the seats will open up

at OLCI 24 hrs before departure, so you may be able to change

seats then. (If you're quick enough of course. ): )
