I have been on 5 previous holidays on the last 4 years always using clubcard vouchers. Always phoned got a price and paid what they said, we were always happy to do so as thats what I thought had to happen.

I have a colleague at work, (so they say )who last week called them up and negotiated a substantial discount by asking them to price match and then still used his clubcard vouchers to pay some of the balance.

Has anyone else managed to do this ??

Im looking to book 7 nights to Jamaica leaving on 03.10.12.

Does anyone else feel they dont really want the buisness the first time you mention you want to use cc vouchers ?? Up to the point you mention them they cant to enough to help and then you get the "oh" moment , and they cant get you off the phone quick enough

Can't comment on the cc vouchers but I booked a trip to St Lucia last week. I called Sandals and VH, after a number of calls I managed to get VH to to beat sandals price. Got them to waive the credit card fee too. So there are definately deals to be had with them.

Serena,
I like you have always used my clubcard vouchers against a VH holiday and always told no discount as the vouchers are the discount and they cannot apply both.Since Tesco have been with VA have now coverted all my remaining vouchers to points so have been able to book 4UC flights and book my own accomodations and car significantly cheaper than i would have got with VH. y)

We spoke to a VH rep in House of Fraser when booking our Florida trip for October... They were extremely strict on use of multiple discounts including price match. Couldn't use it with employee discounts or CC vouchers. In the end used CC for miles and booked m+m flights and hotel separately!

I've never had any problems using CC vouchers (twice last year) to pay along with any other discounts applied. Both times were booked in a VH shop inside Debenhams. I think the trick is not to mention that you're using the CC vouchers until they've given you the final price and it comes to paying for it.

Being in-store, they also have a great way to avoid the credit card fees. At the till we use the credit card to buy Debenhams gift cards of the value required and then pay VH with the gift cards. I suppose the down side of that would be lack of credit card protection (or missing out on credit card travel insurance if you have it), but I'm hopeful that VH won't go bump anytime soon!

Since Tesco changed the Clucbard voucher benefits (3x value rather than 4x and restrictions on amount that can be used with VH), I've also converted mine to FC miles and set them to auto convert. Along with the recent 50% conversion bonus, I've gained a total of 84,625 miles through Clubcard conversions this year.

Thanks for all the replys peeps. From now on we will be converting to FC miles. Unfortunatley (due to another new rule) you cant send vouchers back once youve converted them :(

Did try again last night, to no avail ,but they did offer us COMPLIMENTARY V-room access, which just happen to be £40 more expensive than the online price !!!!!
