But will we get an ice cream?

That's a really good idea.... would mean that the tablet makers would have to play nice though B)

Think there is an app for that?

Well that would just take the fun out of travel... don't think I am ready to be destroyed and remade yet :( esp with VS tech record!

IFE must be like the latest computer or smart phone. No sooner has a model hit the shelf, it's out of date.

Not only that, but as higher specification tablets roll out there must be the thought - why bother with the point of delivery hardware at all ? Why not just have a content server to which personal devices could attach?

This is how one of the newer systems, Lufthansa BoardConnect, works.

Or since you're above the clouds, how about connecting to a cloud to stream music and video and games and social media ): !

I welcome this news, and I hope that the content improves along with the superficial features.

There seems to be an awful lot happening at the moment -- barely a week goes by without some new development trickling out. It seems to me that VS is trying pretty hard to improve. y)

I agree, they've got new A330's with new UC seats, LGW 747's with brand new cabins, new IFE rolling out fleet-wide, new JFK Lounge and a new one at EWR next month, the best PE across the pond (bar Air NZ) and a few new routes (Cancun, Vancouver) have opened up recently too, not to mention Manchester domestics and possibly more LHR remedy slots.

Carriers like EK can't even guarantee you a lie-flat seat in J on all flights!
