This sounds ridiculous but... I'm flying LGW - BGI at the very start of Jan 13. I'm assuming that all the 747's will be flying the lgw 1 config by this time. Now... I'm a guy that loves a window seat. Reason being... I like to sit back, relax, and look out of the window! However... It's recently struck me, how many window seats don't actually sit comfortably next to a window! Does anyone know off the top of heir head which PE seat would be a good one to pre assign (when 8th Oct finally comes!)?? Without sounding like a spoilt brat, I'd like to be able to gaze out without needing to lean forwards, look backwards, or anything else that requires the slightest bit of irritating effort! (consider me lazy, with nothing more important to be concerned about ;) ). Any tips would be appreciated! Ps, nothing too near the loo! Thanks people! :P No setting me up!

Only ever flown PE in the bubble. 79 A&C are our favourites.these seats were good but I found that the windows were quite low if you are planning in peering out of the window alot . Also due to the bins being located between the seat and the window, the seats are quite far from the windows. This didn't spoil the experience one bit for me but if you think it might for you, you might be better off looking downstairs.

Totally agree about 79A-C being fab seats. The present Mrs Treelo especially likes 'her' small table beside 79C. :o)

You'll probably have 2 windows, or one and a half to choose from until the person in front reclines. Other than that I'm afraid I've never been on an LGW bird so can't comment.

The windows upstairs are a bit low if you are tall, guess his is to do with the curvature of the airframe. Great view looking down but more awkward to look level / up........

I posted on this in Feb 2011.
Just flew PE on 747 to JFK and noted the window issue again.
Upstairs don't recall there being a problem. Downstairs on the LHR 747 rows 33 and forward have 2 windows per seat. 34 and back have poor views with half a window only.
Assume the new LGW cabin is the same downstairs?
There is a picture on this last post of the inside of the PE cabin.
