So just had a look at manage my booking for my Sunday flight to Orlando and its showing i can now select my seat when i look at the map it shows upper deck for PE as well as lower so is this the refit layout, looking at the refit thread it seems to be but just thought i would ask to be sure.
Also does anyone have any opinions on upper v lower with the new config (if it is) for PE i don't really mind where i sit tho a window is preferable but thought i would ask from the knowledgeable among you :D

it is a refurb plane, the cenus of opinion is to sit downstairs but I always liked the bubble, the way it is configured I think that the EC passengers in the bubble will get off before you

Hi there,
Both layouts have PE on upper and lower decks. The way to tell if it's a refurb is to look at the map of the upper deck, if it has Economy seats, it's a refurb, if not then no.
I think the jury is still out on the best place to sit, I haven't seen a TR from PE on the lower deck yet

I'm in the same boat as you in November. I'm leaning towards the Bubble, mainly because I've never flown on a 747 before and have always wanted that feeling of walking up the stairs 8D

Don't blame you at all, I've talked about it with my partner and we both agreed that we couldn't really care less if we aren't 1st off the plane, or even have 1st choice of the meals ;)

I'm off to Orlando in 4 weeks and deliberating the same things. I've not sat in the bubble before and am a little bit miffed Virgin have put economy upstairs, now I've upgraded to PE I'm torn! Might try for upstairs on the way out and downstairs on the way home...

I have a moderate dilemma with this for a trip to Vegas. I do not want to stand in the immigration hall behind tons of people as reports of this in the new terminal there are a little mixed as to "hours" or "minutes". So, if you are happy to stand in the immigration line should it happen then be prepared. For me I do no want to be behind at least a hundred people on a refit.

YMMV.

Might be worth reading my TR for our outbound to Cancun, we decided on the bubble and didn't regret it at all. We looked at both downstairs and the bubble and for us, the bubble looked and felt much more spacious. There is still some confusion when disembarking, but if you quick down the stairs, you can be first off :)

Does anyone have any preference on specific seat selection in PE for a/c with only one cabin, say on an A346? Or is it just as close to the front as possible?

On the 346 I would avoid the back two middle rows of three because of the proximity to the toilets. Otherwise I don't think it matters. One row, 19 I think, doesn't have a full window, but otherwise there's not much difference.
