Ive only just registered with FF. Now... Ive purchased a holiday to Barbados with a tour company (not VH). Having checked the 'my flight' details on the VS site, it says that I could've earned 10.500 miles and 6 tier points if I was a FF. So... I've registered, entered my FF number in the flight details, but still showing nothing in my account? Is there another way to redeem the miles/ tier points? Or do I wait until I've flown? Is it automatic? Or... Will I not even get them due to booking with someone else?? Any gurus with all the answers out there ?|

You won't get them until you fly - after all you might not fly and it is easier to add than to add then take away :)

I recently joined the FC as well – yet to book my trip in spring but was wondering if there was a way to pick up the FC miles and tier points of my girlfriends ticket? Is the best way to sign her up as well? (and get the bonus points for recommending her… :? )

Yes that would be the best way as you can not claim another passengers miles or tier points for yourself.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, that's not 100% true as AUs do pick up the miles of children registered on their family account.

...I'll get my coat... :w

as Olas86 says they recently joined flying club i was working on the assumption that they would still be a red.

Do they send you out a card when you join up? I see there's something you can print out but I'm sure that would soon get very tatty! I'm thinking that surely there's a credit card type of thing that you hand them when you check in? ?

If you give your FC number when you book your flight it should already be in the system, or you can add it on the Manage my Booking page so you don't have to produce anything when you check in. You will receive a card but I think it's when you have done a miles-earning activity
