I can confirm that the bonus miles and TPs from upgraded tickets post correctly. My flight yesterday was economy (L) upgraded to G and I earned 5 TPs for it. :) y)

This is a great promotion! I only learned of it whilst sitting in the Clubhouse and literally registered on my phone whilst sitting on the plane just before I had to switch it off! Just in time...

Received an offer from the Flying Co that says " Earn 50% extra miles and 4 bonus tier points on the first round trip flight (or 2 bonus tier points on each leg).

Earn 100% extra miles and 8 bonus tier points on the second round trip flight (or 4 bonus tier points on each leg). For example, if a Premium Economy return flight to New York would normally earn your travellers 8 tier points, with our offer, they’ll now earn 12 tier points on their first flight, and 16 tier points on their second flight, if taken before 28 February 2013. That’s 28 tier points in total!

Now, this is all very generous etc, but does anyone know if this would also apply to flights booked a couple of weeks before the offer appeared, as I have a couple of UC trips coming up and the offer could make a big difference to my FC status... ):

I will of course be calling the Flying Co people, but have a feeling I may get a clearer answer here!!!

Thx.

Having looked through the T&C's myself and asked a similar question, it applies to all bookings until February 28th both new and existing. y)

Big result if it's true, I've just talked the wife into a quick TP run to NY in December AU it is then. y)

Does anyone know how far back you can claim extra TP's under this offer? We flew on 27th August so it'd be nice if we could get them for that flight!

Thanks to V-flyer and this thread. I did not get the email and would have missed out. I fly on Monday to SFO and again in October so that'll be 12 TP more for me. I expect I would have made AU again, but this makes it a cert. :)

I have been in the US this week - out on VS 9 Monday and back on VS2 Friday. While away I registered for the bonus miles+tier points offer.

I have been awarded the bonus TP & miles for the return leg of my trip.

Well I am very happy with this - While I am in the US right now so my pre Sept 3rd flight to NYC in Eco would not count my return from SFO in Prem will and my I have the same flights again, Eco in Y to NYC and SFo-LHR in Prem in October. With a few flights on US air and Virgin America I should make gold ahead of my November flight to SFO to get married :)

I'm looking at booking a trip through Virgin Holidays, would the flights still qualify for the bonus?

Many thanks.

So just a minor update. My Prem Eco flight posted as 6698 regular miles, 2679 Silver Bonus and 3349 Global Cabin Support Offer miles for a total of 12726 miles and 5 TP. Great to know Ill be Gold for my wedding flight, and beyond as SFO-LHR-SFO becomes my montly commute (two weeks each in SFO/LON)

Slightly off the topic of bonus points…but I’ve seen a few posts about buying tickets in L and upgrading to G, was wondering how this is done? I can only seem to find tickets in O (that cant be upgraded) or in Y (that are more expensive than just paying for a K?

By the sounds of things, this is the most efficient way to use the FF miles?

What you have to do in the first instance is to check G availability (Upper Class Reward seats) for the route you are interested in - I do this online. If there is availability then I am on the phone as quick as a flash to book the L class seat then use the miles to upgrade.

In fact I did this only last week to grab 2 Gs to Orlando :0

Do remember to log out of your on line enquiry because that is in effect holding that Reward Seat

It depends on the specifics but in general I think it is the cheapest way to fly UC, provided you have earned enough miles for the upgrade.

Is that right? -- I thought that as long as you do not go through to the "book flight" page after checking availability, your search will not tamper with the availability?

Just booked my second bonus earning trip (HK this time). Going to get me 63,760 miles and 20TPs in total, if my maths is right. :0 ^)

And that's me over the 80TP threshold for the year, now for the argument with crawley towers around why they should let me use the upgrade vouchers as 4x1 way rather than 2x return, otherwise they are as good as useless to me... wish me luck...

Awesome, Thanks.

I just booked flights to NYC last night which are before the holiday we are planning so I will get 22 TP's from my LAS UC flights in Nov and NYC econ in Dec, what a bonus, really didn't think I would make AU as only a leisure traveller.

Will be interested in the outcome of this - I recall your earlier post. Good luck!
