Returned from Zurich yesterday so she should be ready to go!!
Although what the requirement is for her at present I don't know.... the 15 from Gatwick is a 744 rotation, the 27 doesn't resume until October.... the only 333 flight at the moment is the 75 from Manchester.
VINE might be parked up for a couple of weeks yet......

I thought some of the carribean routes were going to 330's

With the 27 and 75 rotations and 2 330's already, unless other routes see them, the 330's are going to be underutilised...

Yes some Caribbean flights will be operated by G-VINE during the winter season.

There is also a Virgin a/c that is being wetleased to Monarch to cover some of their flights during October (certainly some MCO flights), so I would have a good guess that this could be G-VINE.

And the VS 15 will also be on a 330 on certain dates through the winter. 330 won't be doing the Caribbean but also operating charters for monarch

I'm off out to MCO from LGW on Monday on the 49 which shows as a 330. That's why I'm a little curious! Be nice to fly on her!

Oh yeah....forgot about the 49.....that's a regular 330 flight, so I guess its possible that it could be VINE!!

Found a little piece on a Monarch forum about someones flight plan having been changed and instead of returning from Sanford (where they are flying out to), they are now returning on VS9988 on 06/10/12 from MCO to LGW, aircraft type A330, departure time 1555.

Is there any reason why the 333 cant be used into Sanford apart from crew familiarity?

No reason it's just that all virgins check in desks and ground staff etc are at MCO so makes sense to have the flight depart from there

Guys, I'm booked to fly PE, LGW - BGI Early January. Was really hoping to be flying in the new seats on a refurbed 747.... Is this now looking less likely?? ?|

The opposite really, all 747's with the exception of G-VTOP (which is being retired in February) should be refurbished by then.

True enough, but seeing as its a Virgin plane chartered by Monarch they are all Monarch passengers.....so do the VS staff at MCO get more work whilst the Monarch staff at SFB have nothing to do?!
The person I was referring to reckons he is flying out on a Hi-Fly A330-200 from Gatwick to Sanford, no doubt that will be dealt with by Monarchs check-in staff and desks at LGW?

It's disappointing to see that VS are furnishing a charter company with one of their newest aircraft, rather than focusing on their own customers.

If VS really don't know what to do with it, how about introducing the aircraft to LHR to replace one of the clapped-out A343's.

Don't forget it is on a 2 class config, so not really suitable on ex LHR flights.

It could actually be a clever tactic, send a new a/c, which the latest seats and top quality IFE, quite possibly enticing some of those pax over to VS for future bookings!

Morning!

I'm at a very wet LGW and looks like G-VINE will be making its first with passengers in VS colours! VS049 to MCO. And I'll be onboard. Will try and get some photos!

Why is it so disappointing that it's a charter company? Would it be ok if it were BA or another scheduled airline?

I don't work for Monarch, just curious as to the negativity on this forum towards charter/lo co airlines? They are a way of getting to a-b, and in some cases with more legroom than both BA and Virgin... Give me an Easyjet domestic flight over a BA one any day.

The point I was making was that the aeroplane is doing flying for people other than VS customers. I don't mind who it's flying for, it's a brand new aircraft which VS customers aren't benefitting from.

It's particularly confusing when VS has less efficient A343's with non-AVOD operating from LHR. Why couldn't VINE be put into 3 class config and used on the Accra run for example?

Thankfully VINE appears to be in VS service today.

The aircraft has come back early from ryan international so there probably aren't upper class suites available to put on it. She wasn't due back until next year which is when suites will have been built and scheduled to be fitted in her

Hence vs now finding the best use of her in a 2 config layout by operating some vs 15 flights over the winter period and some charter flights.

I don't think people are particularly negative towards charter and lo/cos. Posters here tend to say what they feel, good or bad, about all their flying experiences. You will find plenty of criticisms of VS on this forum.

Is G Vine 2 class? She is on the aircraft database as 3 class.

Just curious.
