Heading to Portland next week for a conference, flying into SFO on VS of course then I thought ahh VX fly to Portland. Check them out and the one flight is at 1.05 pm with VS arriving into SFO at 1.35 pm.

Great timing. Not v( .

This is one of my bugbears with VS/VX - none of the schedules match up.
You either seem to miss them by half an hour or have a 4 hour wait. They really need to be more cohesive within their mini alliance.

Indeed so it's Air Alaska and miles to BA EC instead.

For a viable connection the VX flight would have to leave at 4pm at the earliest.

It's unreasonable to expect VX to change their flight times by 3 hours just to cater for the tiny minority of passengers who connect off VS.

Golly, I'm not asking them to change just for me, but connections are a big part of airline alliances, good for business, and also incentivized through FF schemes. So I disagree.
