Exactly, I have been preaching this for a long time, there is no reason that VS could not SELL space in an amenity kit for UC passengers, except they lack the collective brain power to figure it out.

VS selling space.... just what we need, a bag of more rubbish to take home...

I would advocate a simple amenity kit that is of good quality, no overly ornate bells and whistles necessary. The bean counters will always be able to make a financial case for cutting corners, unfortunately as appears is the case with the new kit. n(

..Or a new jumpsuit style sleep suit promoting Virgin Galactic :P

What do you propose they offer you from the group companies that doesn't cost them in missing revenue? aside from advertising.. which they do quite well in their Seatback magazine.. give it a read one day. :$

I hold the point from my previous comment though.. You are on a VS flight and they want you to remember you were in a hopes of keeping people coming back (good service should do this)... look at the hype generated by the pen in UC for example ;) (shame they have replaced it with a piece of tat) Give people a pair of socks showcasing the VS logo and class of travel and if taken off the plane, every time they put on that pair of socks they will know where they got them.. lets hope it was a good flight. ii)

Now if they attempted to fill the amenity kits with sponsored goodies, I would wager they would screw it up by filling it with the contents of a free newspaper, definitely would not do their image any good... back to the "department of mysteries" in Crawley..

However, I'm curious what add sponsored amenity would you like to see adorn the VS shoe bag/ipad case/disposable diaper?

I'm on board the 45 right now, and I'm actually relatively impressed compared to the old offering. More later as I have to turn the blackberry off :-)

Was on the VS3 a couple of days ago and it appeared to be a mix of old and new ?|

Old style earplugs in their paper envelope, old style socks - purple ones though, no tissues, no pen. Hard to tell with the eye mask - think they are the same anyway.

All in one of their new tablet cases and with the new toothbrush and toothpaste. Overall very disappointed actually, although I accept they have to use the old stock somehow. n(

Got to say Colin that made me chuckle y)

I do agree with ya that the amenity kits are a tad flimsy at the moment. However on my last pass through JFK the day kit was a mixture of the old and new UC amenity packs.... was a little weird so it is possible they are trying the best of both worlds - no pen though n( - or simply using up the rest of their old stock in the new covers.. who knows the thought processes of the wizards over at Crawley Towers ?|
