suggestion:

would it be possible to put on the 1st post the date the 'in progress' plane left for refurb?

Flying on VS05 in 1 week. The route is usually operated by either G-VFAB or G-VBIG. Both 747. But neither mentioned on the 1 page in this thread to either beeing refurbed or waiting to be.

Does this mean that these planes will not be updated, or what am i missing? :-)

Does anyone know an approx date for Jersey girl coming back. We are flying from Man on the 17th Oct, will my odds of a refurb have increased?

You are flying from LHR, it is only the LGW 747's that are beng refurbished. The LHR a/c already have the newest seats and AVOD IFE (V-Port).

Nobody knows when the a/c are due back, so unfortunately it is just a matter of keeping an eye in the flight status page to see if it shows up. She went on around the 11th Sept so there is a good chance but no guarantee.

We fly out LGW-MCO on 06/11/12 at 1040, whats the chances of us having an updated plane?

Coming back on 16/11 from MCO-LGW at 1950.

Cheers

Sulley, according to your flight times, you fly out on VS027 which most likely to be on an A330-300, so brand new plane but this should be double checked ...

Travelling LGW-MCO on the 3/10/12. Seat map opened up today a full 48 hours before the flight. Looks to be a refit at the moment.Seats available in the bubble but have selected a couple downstairs to see how the new expanded PE compares.

Good news for you on the refit, I'm a little disappointed as I'm on the 27 on wed and whilst no seat map is yet available, I can see on expertflyer that the MCO (15) LAS,BGI,MBJ all have the seat map for a refit, so it looks like we will be on a non refit, oh well never mind :)

Flew out to MCO on 18th of Sept from MAN on Ruby Tuesday (non refurb), after last minute switch from G-VROS in LAS. Again due to fly back to MAN on VS074 on the 2nd Oct....After G-VROS running the flights from MAN and VS073 incoming to MCO (and we were alocated seats in the bubble on the seat planner !!), Guess what...a switch to G-VROY (non refurb again ) on our return trip by the looks of things.

So....Non refurb outbound and inbound for us...Thanks Virgin Atlantic Planning Dept !

I share your pain..... we return on 2nd Oct on VS074 MCO-MAN and it was sheduled for G-VROS as of very late last night as like I say in my post above, we were allocated seats in the bubble. Checked today and back on the lower deck in row 35. n(
We've been caught out twice now by bloody aircraft switches. Should have booked with Thomson or TCX.... at least we would have know what to expect !

So I'm afraid its a thumbs down from me n(

but virign have stated that they can not guarantee what aircraft until check in opens and then all aircraft are possible to change at last minute if they go tech so really no different just the chances are more noticeable or heightened at the moment due to the refit programme.

Hope you do get a refit and have a fab time wherever you are going but just remember expect nothing and you will be delightfully impressed.

Quite right, no chickens being counted just yet :D Just checked the seat map again and the rest of the bubble seats are now available including the front row so going to switch :)
Still expecting nothing and therefore will not be disappointed ;)

Boooo, returning on G-VTOP now :(! If only we had flown from Gatwick we would have had a refurb to and from MCO :(

Still, had a great time in Orlando. Maybe try out the new Thomson 787 Dreamliner next year :D

Looks like the odds of getting a refit have just got better, G-VROY is due out to China tonight so I guess the return of G-VGAL is imminent!

Hi all, longtime lurker first time poster! I've had a search around but couldn't find the answer so hopefully someone can help.

In the bubble, what is behind row 24 in the PE section on the refit aircraft? The seat map suggests it's exits so I'm guessing there isn't a physical bulkhead?

The reason I ask is that I'd like to avoid a seat against a bulkhead (I had this in PE on a VS flight from Las Vegas) and a row with "nothing" behind would allow me to recline without irritating any passengers behind me.

Typical... as soon as I send my first post to be moderated I find a Trip Report by Fatcat that suggests there's a curtain behind row 24.

Additionally, same question for the downstairs PE section. I can see that some seats will be against the WC or stairwell but what about 19A & 19B?

Thanks in advance!
