Travelling to New York on the VS001 - what plane will that be please

I believe the VS1 is run by a Boeing 747 - did it not tell you when booking?

Edit - sorry obviously didn't tell you as you are asking here Just do a dummy booking and then click on the flight number - a popup opens and the aircraft type is listed - yep I was right it is a 747. y)

Best seats on a 747 in UC try to grab the seats in the nose cone downstairs. Much quieter cabin and better for service and UC experience in my view.

Nope the 747 have the old style UCS as opposed to the ever dreaded UC dream suites... At the moment the new UCS only feature on the new Airbus A330-300.

Other opinions are available, but if you want to sit opposite each other 12A and 12K. And you land before the pilot. If you want to sit next to each other, then a little further back, rows 15/16 or so. Any further forward and you're playing footsie with a stranger...

The only downside of this zone is that when taxiing and landing you can be quite aware that the nose wheel is underneath you.

At the moment if it's any day but a Friday it'll be on the new A330 with the new UCS Dream suite and JAM in flight entertainment! Fridays are scheduled to be on the A340-600 with the older suites and V-Port on demand IFE!

All of gatwick have the old style too (bar the IFE which has been upgraded to JAM) in UC - is only PE and Economy that have had new seats fitted there!

From what I have read, I'd be pleased to be in the older style suite personally, I booked my New York flights deliberately on the flights without the new suite.

Should I be pleased with old style suite - what's wrong with the new style?

Most VS-Flyers who've used it think it's more cramped and less private as the seat dividers now feature a semi-opaque window.

The general consensus seems to be the main objective of the new suite is to cram more of them in, particularly down the centre of the cabin.
