hi all ,

i have to attend a business conference in Chicago on from the 2nd of November to the 6th of November. Am wanting to avail of the offer which allows for extra tier pints and miles to be earned and so although virgin don't fly direct to Chicago want to fly as close as possible to earn some tier points and miles. i am confused as i have no idea which US airport would be the closest that virgin does fly too and also should i book the internal flight by myself so it will be cheaper? i know in the forum they advise to make it a connecting booking with the same pnr so that luggage and all is linked but when using the flight connector tool for the said dates i am getting a fare of 899! and i really want to earn some miles. i am sorry if my post is not as clear i suffer from an anxiety disorder which makes using the computer a little overwhelming and stressful.

many thanks for all your help kind forum members.

I believe American Airlines fly several daily flights between EWR and ORD.

I have just tried a dummy booking with your dates through expedia.co.uk choosing Virgin Atlantic as your preferred carrier and they came up with a fare of £547 VS to Boston then American to Chicago in economy.

I hope this helps.

Fully agree with LHR-JFK-ORD via Jetblue. Blue chips and live TV!!

Another vote for that.

Flying to the West Coast and back across to Chicago is a bit OTT in my opinion. If you are really keen to maximise miles and TPs then I wonder if there is some clever routing via NYC with a switch to US Airways at LGA. But this won't be as convenient as JetBlue, which I agree is the most sensible option.
