Yes, but there are the Monarch charter flights, and the capacities are obviously very different so not that easy to swap a 747 for a A333, not forgetting the lack of UC.

Of course it would be perfect for the pax but I just don't see what Virgin gain by having two a/c out of operation at the same time.

An 330 will be operating the vs 15 on certain dates and quite a few caribbeans are being combined at the moment so with a lhr 744 covering some days it's not impossible to have two out for refits. Maybe they'll overlap a little again

Firstly apologies if there is a current thread on this,
Im flying on 2nd Nov on VS 075, Im pretty sure this is going to be on a 747, is there any current update on the progress of these refurbs, Im aware the some of the 747s flying from LGW have been updated so if anyone has any info regarding the 747s flying from Manchester that would be great.

regards

Dave ;)

The aircraft from Manchester are the same batch as Gatwick - Refer to the first post of this thread to see the latest, which is 5 out of 7 are now done...

Flew on Ruby Tuesday on the 3rd, and ave to say it was in much better condition than I expected! Having been disappointed to get a non refit, I was pleasantly surprised with ruby Tuesday!

Hi, I'm due to fly to MCO 27/10. I have requested my seats on the seat map section on VA.com. Are these seats set in stone or will the seat map change again 24hrs before departure? Not really fussed if I get a refurb a/c but would be nice :)

Best do OLCI to secure your seats; even then things could change (but unlikely.
Have a good trip.

From my view point I suppose it depends what you class as the lesser of 2 evils ): possibly having an unknown next to you, or people haning around waiting for the loo or taking a rest from their seats at the back :D

Woo Hoo seat map available for my flight on Friday on a refit!

Have been assigned bulkhead seats but downstairs, should I be pleased with these? Wanted to sit in the bubble as we haven't sat upstairs before, can you look which other seats are available when you check in online?

Thanks!

You are on the same flight as us and as the flight is full the system has allocated the seats, and it is very unlikely you will be able to switch them at OLCI stage.

It is always worth asking at the airport, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

At least we have a refurbished a/c, looks like it will be G-VROS.

I'm gonna ask my question again :). At the moment the seat map in mmb shows a pre refurb plane. I'm guessing I'm not going to be on a refurb plane then?

It still could change, and there is a chance the next a/c could be back by then also, you will only really know with more certainty a couple of days before.

I'm flying back to Manchester from MCO on Wednesday after a lovely holiday in the sunshine. We just managed to request our seats this morning for our return & have a refurb - not sure which aircraft is doing the VS74 at the moment. We had a good flight out in Ruby Tuesday so I hope the return flight goes just as smoothly.

Have you checked your 'Manage my booking' Gary? If the seat map is available for you, you will know which aircraft you may be flying on as there are PE and economy seats in the bubble upstairs. The ones which haven't been refurbed only have PE upstairs.
