I cannot wait until the Virgin airlines see sense and decide to band together in regards to benefit sharing for FFs. Although I suppose a different set of thresholds will have to be set in order to make the various FF programs sync up
It would definitely encourage me to utilise the group airlines more.
At the moment as a VS AU you have the opportunity to get single access to the partner lounges, VA being one of them - although I understand you can buy extra guest passes for the lounges if travelling with others. There is a limit on these depending on how busy the lounge is.
In terms of the baggage, interesting question.. I do know that gold and platinum velocity members are allowed a comp baggage allowance, hopefully VS AU will give you some benefit along these lines..
If no one can answer here, it may be worth a call to the VS AU line to ask them. If they can't help - VA customer service should be able to let you know. I would be interested in the answer to that one too.
