I am feeling swayed into trying the new Dreamliner from Manchester to Sanford next year, and feel like a traiter. Virgin still using 330/75 to Orlando next year, as you know I like to get up and away as early as possible, but I love my 747/75 and 73, and that leaves after 2oclock in the afternoon. v( But the Dreamliner leaves on a Monday at 9.15 in the morning. ^) I dont like wasting my day waiting at Manchester when I could be half way there. Would or will any of you good people be giving it a whirl also. ?|

Different folks / different strokes and all that, but the 73 is a much better flight time in my opinion. Don't have to get up early, don't have to spend all afternoon when you arrive feeling tired and trying to stay awake (partly due to having to get up really early), I find we get in to the new time zone soo much quicker when we fly on the 73.

The new 747 refits are very impressive also.

Sanford airport is my preferred choice, it's the only route I would choose Thomson over Virgin. Although further away, you can be through the airport in 15minutes which makes up for sending your bags on the conveyor belt a second time.

The Economy experience will be on par with virgins, the Ife will be the same and have similar connectivity functions. Drinks are chargeable but will be less restricted.

If it's premium, then the Thomson service will be far superior, with the introduction of the Dreamliner the meals will be plated up and served similar to upper class, full glass unlike the plastic glasses offered in premium on my last VS flight. Also no paper cups for tea/coffee, everything in china/glass/plates.

Thomson have upped their prices a lot this year though. Luggage is an issue though, I usually book an extra bag and then compare the whole price with VS.

Any other route VS hands down gets my money, Orlando ( I go at least once a year) Thomson 9/10 get my money

I've been comparing VH and Thomson / First Choice for a 2 week hol to Mexico next summer. First Choice are currently £800 more expensive.

I too was keen to try the Dreamliner but for £800 less I can fly PE with VS, surely the premium offering on the Dreamliner can't be as good?

I'll be very interested in reading the reviews when they start coming in.
