Is it a coincidence that Ruby Tuesday doesn't appear to have flown since Sunday?

According to the vs source she was tech in st Lucia for a couple of days

Yes she was technical (broken) for at least a couple of days. My brother was supposed to be coming back on her on Tuesday. They got to the airport, boarded, sat there for 5 hours, got fed, then all had to get off, collect bags and go back to their hotels. The next day when they got back the a/c was still not fixed. "The bonnet was still up" said my brother :).

In the end he and his wife were booked on BA in Club (he had VS tickets in Upper) so they got home eventually.
He was not very impressed with how it was handled and the lack of follow up. Especially as he is FC Au and his company fly a lot of people out to St Lucia where they have a cocoa plantation.

We flew home last night on Ruby Tuesday , looking a bit tired now and in desperate need of the refurb.

The plane was technically broken ( One emergency door out of action) and the IFE was glitchy , but arrived back safe and sound from Jamaica.

Sorry to be thick, but how do you tell that it looks like it's a refit?!?

Hiya, when you look at theseat map, the bubble (upper deck) will have a mixture of Premium Eceonomy and Economy seats, the non-refitted aircraft only have Premium economy upstairs.

Ah! I didn't realise they'd moved some economy upstairs! Is the seat map only available once online check-in has opened or can I see it before that?

Thanks for your help.

No worries at all.

The seat map should be available from 90 days before your flight, unless you are flying in Premium Economy, then it's at ONCI.
If you just wanted to have a look at the new seat map, go to page one of this thread, there is a link to the new layout.
If you want to have a look at the pre-refitted layout. click on the toolbox at the top of the page, then look at Ruby Tuesday for example.
Hope this helps :)

Thanks again for your help.

My PE seat maps in Manage my booking were available 2 days before OLCI both outbound and inbound. I couldn't actually change my seats outbound until OLCI but have been able to request my seats 2 days ahead inbound. Whether they will change at OLCI tonight remains to be seen.

No - I'm not bothered now as OLCI opens in a few hours & I'll see whether they have left my request alone or moved me somewhere else. It's my first time on a refurb so it should be interesting.

Ive got a quick decision to make, LGW refurb in the next few days, just reserving seats, I know its not cast in stone but do take a pair at back in ECO or was thinking back of a 3 in bubble? Cant decide!

Well I'm back from Vegas and had refits there and back, cheap seats both ways - Upstairs row 80 on the way out and a pair of seats row 63 on the return.
We were fortunate to have a half empty plane on way out so had the row 80 to just me and the misses, so was great, row 63 pairs of seats had a good 2" extra knee/leg room which I wasnt expecting so made for a very relaxed return journey, especially with space at side as well. IFE was fast and responsive, although for me I'd seen most of this months films that I would have watched, games good fun though. One thing I noticed before going is that the seat plan only becomes the LGW-1 about 2 days before the flight, which appeared to kick everyone off the pairs of seats that were showing booked beforehand, and also the whole of the bubble was free if you get in there early.

Excuse my ignorance, but my understanding on seat selection was that PE was unavailable for advance selection, but seats in UC and at the back were now available 90 days in advance.

We fly to Orlando in November in UC and no sign of seat selection as yet. Am I missing something?

Cheers

We fly out to LAS on 26/12 in PE and so not able to select seats. However, we fly back on 11/01/12 from MCO (we're travelling around) and so should be able to select seats but this is still not possible in manage my booking. Any ideas?

Bugger, looks like a non refit for Mondays flight to Havana as seat map for outbound now displaying. Showing as assigned 78c which is good as an aisle seat in the bubble

If you have the old configuration, established V Flyer views are that 79 A&C (with its side table) are the preferred seats. The positives are that you can recline without disrupting anybody behind and you get off first. The negative is that being at the back of the cabin you may not get your choice of meal

We had 80 H & K last year suited us good recline and no one behind or opposite just the papers, drinks and fruit fab seats in my opinion :)

Please can someone who has been on a refit answer a quick question.

Trying hard not to lower the tone: downstairs in PE there's three WCs (two to the front and one to the rear). Who uses which? Specifically is the one to to the rear for PE only?

The two at the front are shared between J and W and the one at the back is just used by W. there's a curtain so Y pax don't use it
