Maybe inside the advance purchase limit - which doesn't apply to MpM fares, hence the massive difference as the full fare W will be being used as a benchmark.

What dates are you looking at?

MPM is rarely a good use of miles or money to be honest, although the OP has made an interesting discovery (for me at least)..... I was not aware that MPM were not under the same booking restrictions as the other lower fare buckets - similar to reward bookings I guess. :?

As long as there is availability, they are bookable and come out much cheaper than full fare tickets when booking close to departure date.

Would still not say it is a good deal, but def the cheapest option for late bookings - to the OP, if you want a true marker on value of MPM compare them against the low fares in the class of travel. In this case would have been MPM 'K' vs normal 'K'.. Weighing the miles and TPs lost against money saved, it is never a good deal n(

Surely it depends on the attitude of the individual whether M+M fares are worth it or not?

Not everyone is obsessed with collecting TPs and every single mile on offer

Also need to consider the individual route and dates. The OP has probbaly found a more extream example of the 'saving' but in another recent thread someone mentioned a £300 saving - something not to be sniffed at if you are on a tight budget.

As with everything it pays to check all options. Afterall there is evidence of people seeing that an M+M is more expensive when a sale is on. I've even seen complaints about this on FB where the only reasonable response is 'you should have checked the straight cash fare' before booking.

Fair line of thought tonty, I was balancing out the cost of the miles to the savings given. That, plus there is no earning potential on the money that you are spending that does not make it a good option for myself. n( n(

You are correct, that is a personal view, no doubt if my situation were different I may favour the savings given by any airline - a rare thing these days. xx(

Are MPM PE not an ordinary K fare, whatever price it is on the day of booking, with a reduction taken off for the miles 'exchanged'? Looks to be the same for the MPM Eco and UC (O/N/X or Z fares) Only thing I can think of for being in the same bucket - plenty of letters in the alphabet :P

Yeh people should research before booking, makes no sense after the fact, unless the service provider in question has some kind of price matching policy if cheaper prices pop up within a certain amount of time of booking - wishful thinking ;)

This all being said - if you are happy with the price - book it and don't look back y)

Correct on the dates, outbound 22nd October and returning November. Having just scraped in enough miles flying Cyprus airways to maintain silver status I was happy with the MPM fare saving to not worry on this occasion but do wish I'd checked earlier the cost to upgrade the MPM fare to a full fare when the price was lower.

Next comes the where to sit debate if there is much option when OLCI opens!
