Just received a quote for next years holiday to Dubai and Mauritius. On the return leg we have 90 minutes to transfer flights which seems very tight to me. If we miss the flight are V hols (or Emirates as both flights are with them) liable for any fees for moving to the next flight?

If they're booking you then it's above the minimum connection time for DXB and yes, if an incoming flight is late then they'll work to get you on the next available flight (assuming it's all booked as one ticket).

I've done this many times at DXB, and with shorter connections too.

Yes I think they do hold back seats but not sure. Exit row is FOC so definitely ask at the check in desk if you are flying Y. Enjoy MRU, I flew via DXB last time I went. The food in the Marhaba lounge in DXB terminal 3 is pretty good.
