I was meant to be returning from SFO to LHR, work commitments decided to change that for me so after a few meetings on the East Coast I was back to good 'ole Boston.
For some reason I used to mock the CH at BOS, I now look at it in a much better light. The staff are always very helpful, the food, while not a LHR, JFK even a Newark, is fresh and tasty and for me the red wine has been the same for well over 18 months, again that is all good. 8D
I sat in CH for a good hour and a half, internet was fast though I did have log on to the secondary WiFi network, the first one that is displayed was poor.
I moved on to food, just a basic toasted sandwich and some of that sticky choc cake(yum) and settled back with wine and work. Staff came up every 10 mins to check. Very good indeed.
Boarding call came, I took the first one to get on-board, get my sleep suit on and take a clothes hanger before they all went.
Let's get the negatives out of the way first. An A340-300 n( After have V:Port and JAM on my last few flights this is like going back to the dark ages, not only had I seen everything on there but it just looks outdated. :( but it's a night flight so not the end of the world.
No "Welcome Back" again (cue lots of Non-Au pax stating I am being far too self-important for my own good etc :o) :o) ) but from then on the CC were outstanding. I have never had so much attention from a full (no empty seats in UC or PE that I could see)flight.
Pre-flight drinks served, asked if I wanted another and then another!! Take off was on-time and smooth.
Captain announced flight would be 5:45, not the fastest ever but by no means the longest.
Shortly after take-off CC came round and took dinner orders and were much more flexible, do I want a little sleep first, bed made up now or later etc. Like going back to the Freedom menu. I placed my order, was then asked about breakfast and explained that if I just wanted a bacon roll I could have an extra 20-30 mins of sleep! Had a doze and was gently woken up by CC. I went for the pasta dish as I wanted something light so sleep on. I didn't read the menu and was horrified when it was presented to me as Vega Pasta :0
I must be honest, it tasted good. I have worst pasta dishes at Italian places.
Made my own bed up, to the jokey disgust of the CC, it seems they wanted to do everything!! Sleep was now on. I seemed to have no issues with 8A being close to the bar, I heard nothing.

As promised, I was woken up with about 1:10 mins of the flight left, table put up in front of me and a bacon roll was served with a choice of red and brown sauce.
Seat-belt signs came on with about 40 min to land, pilot stated that no signs of holding from LHR so we would land 40 mins early.
Landing was smooth and we was on the gate in about 10 mins. From my position in 8A I was first off up the airway after side stepping the pax in 9A :D
Once thru immigration I walked in to the post-flight Oasis that is the Revivals Lounge, got to love those ladies and those showers.

Just shows, no matter what the greeting, aircraft type and entertainment the CC can make or break the journey and the reputation of VS. I wish I would have asked the members of the CC if I could use their names, I didn't so I won't!!

Those ladies and those showers or those ladies in those showers ):

Ok letchy comment made and done with. :P :P

Nice TR and sounds like a good journey - that Boston chocolate cake is amazing y) y) almost worth going just for that.

No comment regarding no "welcome back", been discussed at length and given my obvious AU worthy views on the matter, would no doubt be targeted too ii)

Cheers for posting 8D

good to hear the choc cheesecake is still on offer at BOS, i'll be on the same flight in a few weeks. They had some good local beers last time too.

Strangely my flight is showing on the seat map as an A330. all i've ever flown on this route previously (& i've done it quite a few times) is A340-600

:0 Good report.
Interesting that you were not given any recognition as AU, I have been one for over a year now and have NEVER been acknowledged in UC or PE!
On four legs with Singapore I was! Not a big deal really but it would be nice!
Off LAS in November will not hold my breath. :0
