Hi all,

Travelling LHR - LAX on VS007 shortly in November. I see it's generally a 747-400 in config 4, so just wondered what the best seat in PE generally is? There aren't too many TRs on that service to get an idea from!

Thanks!

Oli - it doesn't get much traffic as there are no loos nearby and the galley entrance is actually a little way behind that row. IMO 28C is slightly better as there is no door bustle in front, so you get unlimited legroom.

The big problem is getting allocated 28A or C in the first place. They are exit rows so you can't pick them off the seat map and despite asking at the airport on numerous occasions, I rarely get them. They are the seats they put bumped UC passengers in if they have overbooked - hence they keep them reserved as long as possible for such an eventuality.

We have just returned from LA on VS8 and we had booked 32 H and K, when we checked in at the desk it had just opened, we asked for 28 A and C and they obliged. This is the second time we have had these seats, last year back from Miami. As it's a night flight we were concerned about traffic and noise. All fears were quickly dismissed, they close off the curtain between UC and PE. The toilet is at the rear of the PE section and the galley is two rows behind. What I found was using the foot cushions on their edge lifted my legs slightly higher which was more comfortable and enabled me to catch some sleep. If you check in early you may be lucky and get them. Good luck
