I fully understand why the name of the aircraft operating a particular flight is not published until a few hours before departure for security reasons.

However, how far ahead do VS allocate flights, we seem to have the aircraft for the next weeks 250/251 rotation up already, was this a mistake, will these a/c actually operate the flights (have noted them and will check)

Also, is it chance that some aircraft operate some flights far more often than statistically likely....

Just curious.....

Thanks

I believe they start to allocate specific a/c up to 3 weeks in advance, but sometimes it is much closer to the actual flight date, however things can/will/do change so along with security reasons this is another reason why they aren't usually published in advance. It is a very fluid operation and the ops team and constantly working to make the fleet work to its most effective plans.

We are lucky we have the schedules page with the data feed from VS that gives us an insight to some forward planning and also the information before anywhere else on he web.

It is in the status update page in the toolbox section at the top.
As I mentioned this is a direct data feed from VS so only when they provide the data can it be shown on here, it isn't something we control.
