Hi,
We're flying UC with my miles and would like to stay over night at LHR the night before so I can check out and make the most of the club house prior to my flight.

Can anyone recommend a hotel. I won't have a car, and would prefer not to rely on one of those hotel shuttles (if possible)

If memory serves, the closest hotel to T3 is the Holiday Inn but I can't remember if it was walkable. I think there is a Marriott too.

Most of the terminals connect to each other (T1 and T3 are within walking distance) but this would mean a short bus ride. If you want to stay on the airport, there is a Hilton at T4 and a Sofitel at T5 but I think you may have to get a bus from here.

Sorry, not overly helpful.

If you don't wish to use the hotel shuttles, would a taxi be your answer or is it that you don't wish to travel anywhere first thing in the morning?

the hotels closest ti T3 are along Bath Road, as the previous post suggests the holiday inn is probably the closest but is through the tunnel so probably not walkable,
all TFL (red) busses are free around the airport and all of the hotels are close to bus stops.

If you want hotels actually on site linked to the terminals then there's the T5 Sofitel or the T4 Hilton or Yotel. There's no hotels actually linked to T3 though.

The T5 Sofitel is the best on site hotel IMHO.

I've always stayed at the crowne plaza just at the junction of the M4 spur road. There is a hoppa bus to the terminals quite regularly but I always get a cab which takes 10mins and costs about £10-£13

Hotel has a good health club so you can relax the night before have a swim, sauna etc and if you need one they do,good park and fly packages.

The Hilton T4 is a good choice, easy connection on the free rail shuttle between terminals. It is a good walk from the terminal, all under cover, but is very modern try and get a decent rate in an executive room as the " offerings" in the exec lounge are v ample and you might not need to eat out.
Good idea to allow extra time in the Clubhouse, it is one thing that Virgin have not cut back on!

Personally I like the Hilton T5 - I realise that this isn't attached to T5 and is on one of the shuttle buses. It is fairly new still, decent size bedrooms, has free WiFi throughout, good selection of food and drinks in the Executive Lounge and the shuttle drops you right outside T3 in the morning.

Also the price is usually a lot less than that of the Hilton T4.

Agree with gingerflyer re T5 Hilton. Had a stay there a few week ago following mix up with my booking. Thought I was at T4 one until reading the confirmation email on the plane!
You did originally state that you didn't want the hassle of shuttle buses, however the Hopper is quite convenient once you figure out where to catch it.
Either option would suit you, enjoy. ?|

Personally I would stay at the Sofitel at T5 then take the free connection on the HEX or London Underground (with an Oyster card)

Love the Hilton T5, they treat me really really well there and I've been going back ever since!
