It means that there's only G-XLG (Ruby Tuesday) to go if I'm not mistaken ...

I was meant to be on the VS 31 yesterday (28th October) but was told the inbound from Orlando went technical. V-flyer is showing Pretty Woman as having flown it? Was it meant to be Pretty Woman and it was delayed?

Done anyone have any more info.

It's showing as Pretty Woman today so will let you know what they missed on refit

Yesterdays 31 was cancelled and is operating tomorrow instead now. ROY will be operating today's scheduled 31 and tomorrows rescheduled one from yesterday.

On board and looks ok so far

I'm flying on vs065 to MBJ on 25/11 in U/C. Seat map is showing the old config, despite being just under four weeks out- does that mean we're definitely in line for the rust bucket VROM? Or do they open up seat selection for u/c seats further ahead as the config remains the same pre and post refit?

G-VROM is actually a refurbished a/c, assume you mean G-VTOP, which is the only non refitted a/c now.

The seat config in UC hasn't changed at all, it is only PE and Y that is different on the refurbished a/c. It is still too far in advance for the seat map to show the config that will operate your flight, but 6 out of 7 the a/c have now been refurbished, so you have a pretty good chance.

Getting nervous - we depart LGW-MCO on Friday VS027 and just noticed VTOP is flying the route today! Looks like she has been heavily used on that route in recent days..

So - just checked in, and still no seat map! Bit frustrating really, as I've had no choice of seat selection, just been issued with one, and we are travelling with an infant. Oh well, fingers crossed..

As mentioned a few times in the thread, it seems that the system is allocating most of the seats currently. This is due to the loads being heavy and them trying to make sure as many groups/families are sat together, so the system works out the best way of doing that.

From reading previous posts regarding seats, I think people traveling with young children do not get to see the seat map, but when you arrive at the airport you may get some (or maybe none :( ) choice of seats.

Fair enough, although everything I've read on here seems to suggest that seat selection would be available at OLCI?

It also appears that the refurbished aircraft now have Bassinet seats in row 6, as they just offered me one when I called to check our seating arrangement. I had previously thought there weren't retrofitting them - perhaps someone can corroborate?

I feel a bit like that also, but just keep thinking to myself that the flight is just the mode of transport to get me to my destination

If Virgin cannot get the fact that seat selection, whether purchased at an extra cost or not, is important to some travellers then they have taken their eye off the ball.

The only thing that keeps me going with them is I think their crew is fantastic.

Well for me it's a once in a lifetime experience, paid over the odds for PE out and UC back, feel it mighty unfair to pay the extra and get the donkey of the fleet, 27% chance of VTOP on the Havana route,

I'm a virgin Virgin flyer and will be on VS085 MAN - LAS on 04 November. Does anyone know which aircraft will be operating this service yet? We're booked in PE and wondered if there is any point in calling VS to see if I could pre-book seats on the upper deck.

This is such a fantastic site! Well done all.

Thanks

Looking at the Status update page it seems that VTOP is on the 43 to LAS today so I don't think she will make it back in time to take me to LAS tomorrow y) so it looks like a refurb for me woo hoo y)

Welcome to the site.

You won't be able to find out which a/c is operating your flight until the day as this information is not released in advance due to security reasons.

There is little point calling VS to be honest, but it is worth keeping an eye on the manage my booking section on the VS site, as the seat map should start appearing soon. It might look like you will be able to select seats initially but then when you hit save it will throw up an error message, this is normal as it is at OLCI stage only you will be able to select seats. However the system has been doing it recently.

If you do get the choice of seat, especially on a refurbished a/c I can highly recommend the downstairs PE cabin, this is definitely our area of choice now ahead of the mixed class bubble.

Trevski220 wrote:Why wouldn't it get back in time?

Because the 44 scheduled landing time is 10:35 and the 43 departs at 11:20, so not enough time to do a turn around.
