Not done this before so looking for the v-flyer experts advice.

We are looking to go to Florida from 30th November 2013 , returning 14th December.

Between the two of us, we have about 250,000 miles, so looking to
Get two return uc seats and pay for our lad's seat. (Though the amount of times he has flown, he should have more than 100k of miles but for the no miles for children rule)

When would be the best time to look for these award seats?

Many thanks in advance

2 or 3 G's to MCO with fixed dates isn't going to be easy (read, very hard) and there is a good chance you won't get them at all. MIA should be an option for you to consider but again having dates set in stone won't help and it could be a waiting game as rewards seats aren't always released straight away, and it could be months after they are released your dates become available (if at all)

I know it's a little like Russian roulette, so I do have a backup plan :-) that's to pay for Buisness class on the cheapest airline, even if that means going indirect. Little un is 11 now so not such a problem. Also as I am using Tesco petrol points to keep the account topped up, they won't go out

Of course another option( other than via MIA) is to fly VS to NYC ( far more awards) then something like JetBlue down to MCO (with the caveats of leaving plenty if time between the flights to allow for delays as you won't be protected as it won't be on the same PNR)
