My first trip report on V-flyer and my first flight with Virgin Atlantic since an Upper Class return to SFO in May 2006!
This was a 9 day family holiday with my wife and daughter to Orlando (3 nights) then down to St.Petersburg for the remainder.
The week leading up to the flight contacted Flying Club and paid £75 for seats with larger leg room in Economy, couldnt check in online the night before due to this request.
Arrived at Gatwick South by Taxi in plenty of time and checkin was very quick at the Economy desk was told VS15 was going to depart 15 minutes late.
Proceeded to duty free and boarding commenced at 1215 from Gate 21, once onboard we were informed we were being delayed on take off due to awaiting the arrival of a documents box for the US, eventually took off with all 422 Customers on board 35 late. Flight time was announced as 8 hours and 40 minutes.
Aircraft was Jersey Girl, the cabin crew were very good always coming around being very attentive, i thought the touch screen inflight Entertainment was excellent.
I have to say the food served was not the best :| the salad was awful the Bangers and mash i choose was ok that was about it, and i wasn't alone with a family sat across from us leaving their's and bringing out Marks and Spencers Sandwiches!
All in all the flight was fine. We landed in Orlando 15 minutes or so late, immigration was heavy but once through that reclaimed our luggage quickly and went to the Alamo Car rental desk from where we got our car and headed out for the Marriott on Vineland Avenue.
Will post the Return Trip Journey details in Premium Economy asap

Thanks for the TR, sounds like it would have been a very good flight if the food hadn't let the side down.

Thanks for the TR good to hear that food apart you had a good journey. Not surprised about the food, we nearly always take a packed lunch as the meals a rarely any good. We normally fly PE but we do not find the food any better. Unless you can afford UC, or get someone else to pay the fare ii) , take your own along for the trip. Saying that some UC travellers express disappointment with about their meals. Look forward the your return trip in PE to compare the food. Hope you had a great holiday. :D not sure if you were delayed at the Alamo rental desk but if you check in online before you travel you can go straight to the parking garage an pick your car, no lines
