Hi All, just been booking a couple of flights to Asia, playing with the matrix to obtain best costs, timings, upgrades etc.
Just about to proceed to purchasing and noticed at the very last second the flight had defaulted to Accra at some stage in the mix, I know this happens quite often, but this time didn't notice until almost too late.....

Just wondering, has anybody actually gone past this point and booked to Accra by accident?? :0

Once booking a flight to IAD, I received an e-ticket for a flight to PVG :?

Quick call resolved the matter y)

Agent I spoke to did not have a clue how it happened, price was similar and small refund was processed. I suppose it is possible I clicked through and somehow forgot where I was going.. they were really helpful and sympathetic with something that may very well have been my mistake to start with 8D Although knowing VS IT ii)

I wasn't aware you could cancel within 24hrs. I booked a flight last year and realised immediately that I had two letters in one of the passenger names back-to-front. I called FC and the charged me £40 to change. I had "Willaim" instead of "William".

The flight was 3 months away. Surely they should have advised me to cancel and re-book? I reluctantly paid the £40 as she pointed out that it was my mistake.

It does not apply to all flights, it does say

Please note that for some fares cancellations may not be permitted and no compensation and/or refund will be made available. Charges may also apply

so it will depend on the fare you have booked

If you book on-line they will charge - as you have control over what is input into the data fields and there are several opportunities to check and confirm the details.

However, if you book over the phone you have a limited period whereby if there is a mistake made by VS in typing details then there is no charge to make the change but the timescales are pretty tight.

I've notice it happen if I use the back arriow on my browser rather than the back button on the VS screen.

But it shows it pays to check and recheck before hitting the 'confirm' button!

It defaults to Accra every time time I press the refine your search button, all other parameters stay the same [date, class etc], so easy to miss because it is normally the date or class I am changing, not the destination. v(
