Hi,
We flew in to MCO on the 2nd November on VS075, great flight & very attentive flight crew.
I know this has been covered before but immigration at Orlando International is a joke, after a 9 hour flight the last thing you want is an endless line of passengers waiting to pass through immigration, we waited 2 hours to get to our immigration officer which I think is pathetic,
what made the whole process more annoying was that they were only running at about 40% capacity, in other words only 4 desks in 10 were operating, im thinking that in future it would be better flying in to Sanford & enduring the longer drive than go through that again.
surely VA could use their clout & impress on MCO that they would be the big losers if passengers vote with their feet,
Apart from this though having a fantastic time in Florida ;)

It is down to pure luck as to when yours and other flights arrive. In May on the VS73 we landed a about 20mins early but just after the VS15, which was about 30mins late and it took over 45 mins to get through. In November on the same flight we arrived on schedule as did all the other flights before us and the immigration hall was empty and it took less than 5 mins.

Like Neil says its pure luck
we travel to MCO every 2/3 months and the longest we have had to wait is 30 mins and have always found the MCO immigration staff some of the best in the USA

I am in agreement with Jeeves331 on this - we fly to Orlando twice a year In May we landed just after the Air France 747 and waited over an hour. At the end of October we landed after the Gatwick 747 and waited an hour again. On both occassions we were flying UC, so I pity the passengers at the back of the plane. Yesterday evening VS74 was delayed 50 minutes as the passengers had not been allowed to leave the incoming aircraft due to congestion in the immigration hall!!! On every occassion less than half the immigration desks were in use - what more do Orlando need to open every desk apart from 4 Virgin planes and other sundry planes arriving within about 2 hours?

I agree with the previous posts MCO is down to luck. On Tuesday I went through immigration at LAX and they only had 2 desks open. I was great full I was in the bubble on the VS7 and was through in 30 mins. They were also the worst I have experienced in the US for questioning and unfriendliness. So comparatively I would say MCO is a lot better than some.
