As this thread is bouncing around all over the place, I to am going to go off topic...Back in 2005 we had some guests staying at the Strat, they thought it would be nice if they brought a couple of gerbils while in Vegas ?| to keep their kids company in the room while they gambled (great parenting skills there), well needless to say the things escaped, the kids didn't fess up for a couple of days (again great parents) and then they didn't bother saying anything until check out.
6 months later we had to close down 3 floors of the hotel while a floor of the hotel was stripped to bare concrete and the whole place was fumigated.
And yes, every now and again we would have a guest complain they saw a rat...If the complaint got to me I would have to explain the whole story....If they happened to be British and older than 30 the story would start with "is not rat, is gerbil".
