Parking at heathrow

Hi all ,can anyone advise on the best parking arrangements at heathrow,been looking at purple parking but there are a few options and I don't know which to choose,

I would highly suggest Meet and Greet. Personally, I find it really easy and not too expensive. I can dig out the names of who I have used from LHR if you need them.

+1 on this, it saves loads of time. Although last time for me at LHR the greeter was 30 minutes late, causing a frantic dash through the airport ! I can't remember the name of the company now but I've used purple parking in the past and they have been reliable.

I used a meet and greet service from Gatwick last year....
When I arrived back in the UK, I telephoned the service to have my car delivered to Gatwick, the operator informed my that a car had parked across the gates of the car park and that my car was stuck! This was 3am....I wasn't the most happy bunny as you can imagine!
They ended up paying for my family and I to have a taxi ride home, then had to drop my car off to me around midday.
Suffice to say, I won't be using them again lol

I would much rather use the short or long term parking and keep my keys with me.

A couple left their Audi A3 with a parking company and it ended up written off in the middle of the M23 :0

You can often get special deals on short term parking, or the business parking which is closer to the terminal if you book in advance.

Failing that have you been offered the VA guest list service ? We were for our trip to US next year. A snip at over £600 for the 3 of us , LOL !!!!

That is what I always do car parks are just a few mins by free bus to the terminal and it is usually cheaper than other options I have looked at.

If parking at LHR I tend to use the BAA valet parking service. Usually a competitive price and saves any hassles at 6am parking and getting buses etc. Most/all of the LHR terminals the car stays onsite at the airport.

Only used valet parking at LGW / LHR a couple of times, but for 2.5 years used the one at STN every week. Much cheaper than anything other than long term, never any damage, never a problem and during snow / ash clouds they went out of their way to help at very odd hours with no request for any extra payments.

I used to love Meet&Greet at LHR from Purple Parking.
Must say that now they have made changes at LHR with the arrangements while the cost is still good, having to park and walk from the short stay and collect from short stay has taken away some of the shine.
Also the last few trips have been not the best in waiting for my car to be there. Two trips ago I was waiting over 45 mins for my car, only to be told while waiting that my car had been taken to terminal 2 by mistake, driven back to the compound back to T1 and now needs petrol without any apology or an offer to replace all the fuel used!!
Will I use them again, yes. They still offer value for money and the 500 miles when I book with them is always a bonus. Am I looking for an improvement in service, yes.

Yes you do now :0 :0 The days of dropping off and collecting Kerb-side have all gone. Not sure why, bet they blame security or similar. I know it's a very small gripe but when you use LHR a lot the walk across the walkway, wait for the two elevators and then the walk past arrivals and back to departures can be a nightmare.

I generally use http://www.stressfreeairportparking.com and pick one I like the look of!

At Gatwick, I use Gatwick AirParking and at Heathrow it is called Heathrow DriveFly.

Had very good experiences with both. Most I have waited for was 15 minutes.

I just use the BAA parking and pay online in advance; seems to work fine and the transfer bus service is reliable. And I think you get a decent amount of miles via the VS shopping portal.

When flying from LHR Terminal 3 or Gatwick South Terminals I use the short term car parks, pretty good prices available when booking direct on line.

Just a quick warning about Purple Parking at Heathrow. Don't be fooled by the advertised 5-8 minute transfer time from car park to terminal. I recently paid £24.95 for a short stay which was one of the best rates i could find online. I turned up at 05.15am and the bus didn't leave before 05.40am, arriving at the terminal at 05.50 - so 35 minutes! On my return to T1, i rang Purple Parking after i had my bag and then stood at the bus stop for 40 minutes! I rang them 3 times and each time they said it'll be there in 5 minutes... I eventually got back to the car park 50 minutes after phoning them the first time.

When i rang customer service, they were very dismissive of my complaint telling me that the bus service was free anyhow and therefore they couldn't help. I asked for a refund and after 2 days they offered me a meagre 50% discount on my next booking.

So the actual service was awful and the customer service was equally bad. AVOID!!!!!!

My nickels worth of free advice - though it may not apply to the Londoners
We stay at the radisson which offers a stay park and fly for either 8, 15 or 21 days included in the cost of the room.
They also offer a meet and greet at the terminal upon arrival though we didn't use this. Just took transfer bus back to hotel and collected car.
Perhaps not necessarily the cheapest but it worked.

I have used Purple Parking long stay to T3 a few times and they are tend to be my first choice for long stay parking at LHR as I have never had any issues with them.

Yes the transfer to the terminal is not the quickest. There is usually a little wait at the car park for the shuttle bus to fill up then the 10mins drive to the airport.

I usually give them a call at baggage reclaim before I collect my baggage and then a lot of the time is 10-15mins wait at the bus stop for the shuttle bus before the drive back to the car park.

Their prices usually are very reasonable and I use them for 14-18 days at a time.

I don't like to use meet & greet as I don't want them to be driving my car on the open roads.

Purple Parking for me too, but use the Business Parking on the A4 (old Qpark) next to the Premier Inn. Their main location is in Hayes and the drive does seem to drag on.

Always use park at my house usually very cheap rates and a choice of providers. We are taken to the terminal and collected on return fantastic service
