Does anyone know if VS have announced capacity cuts for SFO during the winter? I've been looking at possible flights for Feb/Mar and consistently there's one day a week where there's no VS 19/20.

This is perfectly normal for VS - every year it takes a look into the winter loads and selectively drops flights on some days across pretty much all of the network.

It's pretty interesting, sensible by the sounds of it. I guess I've just never noticed it before, or not been looking for dates when they're not running. Is there a scenario in which they add them back, or are those flights toast for the winter?

and the smaller 340-300's have been more extensively used recently, 900, 603, 17....

In more positive news, I see VS41/42 is coming back to SFO in 2013. Guess it did pretty well. Carlson Wagonlit says it's an A343, won't they be gone by then?

No, the A343's are staying for the time being,

On a similar thought, I see VNAP is going into MNL direct at the end of the month, rather than the normal swap via the 201 service. Is this a case of getting another 346 through a heavy check when the usuage of the fleet is a little slacker?

A340-300's are here through t0 2014....

As for investing in tablets.... Vera TAB or whatever it is called is offered on the 343 services.

Is that a good thing? I've no idea what Vera TAB is?! Last time I was on an A343 (May'12) it was that awful spooled thing, the name escapes me. I was in UC and they handed out Samsung Galaxy Tablets but that was a trial at the time and I gather that has since ended.
