well that shows what can happen, overnight an aircraft change, gone from refurbished to TOP, gutted

That’s just really aggravating muckleflugga.

Flew VS63 back in August and was on Ruby Tuesday (pre-refit) and then got lumbered with V-TOP on the 64. Both falling apart, tatty, and in parts, filthy. They should have been replaced / refurbished yonks ago. VA has done itself no favours by holding out so long – it’s an airline that works because in differentiates itself from the competition. After my Havana trip, I seriously wonder if a charter airline might have been better. Especially as I had no watchable IFE outbound or inbound. At least the CC on the way back were really good (no so much on the way out). Still, enjoy Havana – it’s one of the most amazing cities that I’ve had the pleasure of visiting.

I flew out to CUN at the beginning of Nvember on G-VTOP and I honestly didn't think it was too bad. We were in PE in the bubble, IFE is what it is, but it worked and was quite watchable. The aircraft seemed incredibly clean - I felt as if they were trying to make up in cleanliness for what was lacking in modernity. Seats were comfy and spacious and worked properly and to top it off the cabin service was friendly and attentive.

I was really annoyed when the seatmap opened and I realised we were not on a refurb, but in reality it was a very comfortable and pleasurable flight.

I just flew on TOP and she's not that bad just looks dated when compared with the refits. For anyone who remembers the classics she is palatial in comparison lol

So now all the refits have been complete, we are going to lock this thread.

All the information regarding the refits can be found on the front page or below. Once we know when G-VTOP will be officially leaving the fleet we will update that information but all we now currently is that it will be early in the New Year (the lease runs out at the end of February)

Which aircraft have been refitted already?
G-VROM (Barbarella)
G-VAST (Ladybird)
G-VLIP (Hot Lips)
G-VROS (English Rose)
G-VGAL (Jersey Girl)
G-VROY (Pretty Woman)
G-VXLG (Ruby Tuesday)

When will I be able to select my seats?
Before the 5th January, when OLCI opens, 24 hours before your flight.
However, the seat maps have been known to open up a few hours before this occasionally.
After the 5th January, 90 days before your flight.

What are my chances of being on a refitted plane?
All 7 aircraft are now complete, but until TOP leaves the fleet it is a 7 out of 8 chance.

Which aircraft are being refitted?
G-VROM (Barbarella) - Complete
G-VAST (Ladybird) - Complete
G-VLIP (Hot Lips) - Complete
G-VROS (English Rose) - Complete
G-VGAL (Jersey Girl) - Complete
G-VROY (Pretty Woman) - Complete
G-VXLG (Ruby Tuesday) - Complete

What about G-VTOP?
G-VTOP will not be refitted, at it is leaving the fleet in early 2013. No exact date is know yet.

What will the new layout look like?
