Hey,

I have tried looking at this on the website and also searching the forums but remain confused! I'm travelling in PE next week to JFK and back a week later. Will my seat have a power socket and if so, will I need one of the converters like the ones they have in UC? Am I right in thinking all the PE seats have a USB port now?

I'm going out on VS3 - A333 and back on VS46 - B744.

Thanks in advance. :)

PE cabins do have power sockets available between the seats on all A/C now.

On the A333's (and now the LGW/MAN B744's) with the Jam IFE, there are ordinary universal power sockets (both 3 pin and 2 pin ones so you can just plug in your adapter as normal). The B744's and A346's with Vera (V:Port) have Empower power sockets so you will need an Empower cable/adapter for that leg. I think the A343's also have Empower sockets.

You are not supposed to use the on-board power for charging devices though, only whilst you are actually using your device. If the crew see you charging devices when you are not using them, you will be asked politely to unplug it.

A330 you can just plug your normal plug straight in to power socket.

744 you can ask the cabin crew for an adaptor to plug your laptop into.

The LHR 744's don't have USB sockets (which is what'll be operating the vs46) - but the LGW/MAN based ones do (except for the one non-refit)
