L fares seem to be a lot higher now...

I travelled on 2 UC from an L code last year, one to JFK and the other to LAX back from SFO.

The JFK L fare was 700 quid and the other one about about 850. Seemed a good deal, and worth an upgrade.

Looking to book Vancouver now and see that their L is 1.2K, so went back and checked and even a JFK L is 1050 nowadays. Has it been this way for a while? I know VS economy flight prices have been a tad high in the last year too...

Not sure whether to go ahead with this now, 1.4K after taxes, plus 50K miles isn't much of an offer to me...

Don't forget you can now upgrade with miles from an M fare, L is no longer the lowest.

He he, I nabbed some L fares for a couple of trips over to the east coast in the new year, before the switch they were £650/£700 a pop. Showing as a lot more now. Appears that M is the new L ii)

Any reason for the change? Or is it just a way of moving the cost threshold for higher fare tickets lower I wonder, anything to eliminate a cheaper fare bucket... They should have just raised YQ and blamed an increase in IPT that does't exist

Appears VS IT is behind the times.. what a shock. Have to use the ITA matrix for the mo. 8D

You can play with an ITA matrix for the availability and fare prices Neil, anything has to be better than waiting on hold for what seems like hours at times.... ii)

I've never really had to wait long when calling VS, I must be lucky.

Of course you are right and you can do it via ITA Matrix but not everyone will know or understand how to do that.
