Return flight changed

Hi we booked our TCD holiday for October 2013 in March of this year. We are booked on the VS 27 11.15 out of Gatwick to Orlando and we booked the VS28 at 17.15 for the return flight. We had confirmation of this but have just received an amended confirmation(which also included our 'my booking' ref no ) but we have been changed to the VS16 at 19.50. This is not really a problem but seemed strange that we had booked so early and have been moved. Also wondering if we get to keep the hire car a little longer so don't need to be at the airport so early ?|

They are probably merging flights, although October is a popular month so that's quite unusual.

Regarding the car hire it will be down to the car rental company and you usually have to return it before the time you collected it on your arrival day, otherwise it will be classed as another days rental and you could be charged.

Good point! Will have to speak to the desk, by the time we get through customs etc we don't normally get the car until after 4pm....

I would personally speak to TCD and ask why the change...then I would suggest that the additional car hire would be non-charegeable due to a change out of your control - gotta be worth a try ): ):

if the holiday was booked in March, for October next year, the actual flight schedules would not have been published at that time?
