Morning

Booked to go to St Lucia 11th June 13 in VS PE, returning 18th June. Had a call from my travel agent yesterday saying that VS had notified them of a change to the schedule and my whole holiday would be moved back by three days with no form of compensation (apparently they're within their rights to do so?)

They have offered to out us on the BA flight on the same day but in WT+ - my perception is that this is a 'less premium' product and I think I will have paid over the odds for my seat in WT+ considering the upgrade cost I've paid with VS.

My question is - has anyone else had this situation and managed to negotiate upgrades, etc as compensation - or is it just something that happens? And is WT+ an equivalent product? Anyone flown both?

Cheers for your help!

As they have given you more than the 14 days notice as required by EU regulations you are not entitled to any compensation.

You are entitled to a full refund of any money you have already paid and can't just be switched around.

They did it to our family lady year. We booked originally 7 UC to MBJ flying sat to sat and within two weeks they changed it to sun to sun. We had to then change hotel booking which fortunately was without charge but one of the family couldn't go because the return flight arrived a day later when he had commitments.

To be fair this is not just VS,Monarch regularly change morning to afternoon flights and visa versa.

Never had any compensation just the offer of a full refund.

Appreciate your replies tonty and Paul - we decided to stick with VS in the end as we hadn't booked any car parking, Gatwick hotels etc. so changing dates wasn't a major problem.
