I get tired of the VS web s**** !

Since when has it been the case the miles cannot be used on the VS300 for a G?

I had this same problem when booking flights to New York a couple of weeks ago. A way around it by longing into Flying Club and then on the left hand side select the tab titled Spend Miles. You can then book it through that way. It takes about a minute longer but it works eventually!

In that case the message on the booking request should mention the "date" not the route.

Interesting. What other days does that tend to apply to? I'd expect the major holidays, but 5th and 6th Jan does seem somewhat (and I hate this usage of the word) 'random'.

5th & 6th will most likely be the weekend lots of people are flying back from their Christmas/New Year holidays

I don't mean to argue, but if I try to book a miles UC trip to New York on 5th returning 6th online here's the availability:

OK returning on the 6th isn't available but I selected out on the 5th and back on the 9th and click all the way through the booking process.

So, if the above is correct (and I have never heard of VS posting a notice of a blanket restriction to rewards), then it just goes to show how poor the web s**** experience is alongside other information sets VS puts out.
