Hi all

First time poster here but long time fan of Virgin.
Got a quick question for the people in the know - I am flying on the VS005 (LHR-MIA) on 30th July and just wondered what is the earliest I can check in so I can maximise use of the Clubhouse?

Thanks :D

Hello and welcome to V-Flyer.

Check-in for flights usually opens 3 hours beforehand.. however LHR check in is open from 6am... Clubhouse opens between 0630 and 0700.. so aim to get there for 0645 to spend the whole morning there :w

You asked for maximum use :P - hope you enjoy your flight and the CH 8D

Personally I've never known it to open before 7am ( and many a time I've sat on the sofas outside waiting for the shutters to rise ..... :w :w ).
Welcome to v- flyer .
Hope MIA treats you kindly and enjoy the CH.

Tis what I thought for a while too.... however last few times on the VS3 I've been at check in by 0630 and the CH has been opening around 0645... it is billed as 7, but if people are waiting then I believe they open slightly earlier - good customer service I think.. y)

On that them and while I remember, does anyone know the opening time of the lounge in LAX, think it's the air new Zealand one. Have an 8 hour layover in that airport in a couple of months, starting at around 2.30 :(

S'ok, have managed to answer my own question! Opens at 1pm... Hope it isn't a problem for us to be there several hours though...

Hi Clare we were there several hours last October if you get there as it opens you can get a nice seat by the window, they only do cold assortments, they did do a soup though, it was all very nice, lovely chocolate brownies and a really fancy coffee machine that takes ages but is worth it. Lots to drink all good quality and it is a help yourself scheme, so you will have to pace yourself. There is internet available which was very good and PC'S down at the bottom plus showers and changing rooms, hope that helps. All the best Linda

Hi Linda,

We have been there a couple of times before, I was just unsure if they'd have a problem with us being there for 6 hours or so! Like you, we found it very acceptable - not a clubhouse of course, but certainly way better than the (Delta?) offering at MCO. Our transatlantic flight home has been put back (I know, like so many!), which is a bit annoying - I'd booked internal flights just a day or so before we were notified of the later VS flight time. If I'd known earlier, I could have booked later internal flights. All in the timing, and I didn't get it right B) :|

07:00 it is then.
Nice and early, get some decent food, couple of drinks. Relax with a bit of internet, bit of shopping in the terminal then relax for the flight.

I just gotta convince the wife now that it's a good idea |:)
