Afternoon...

I am booked from CPH via LHR to HKG on this evenings VS200.

My flight out of CPH is delayed so my connection in LHR is down to 45 mins.

My options are:

1. Rebooking with LH via FRA and more or less same arrival time in HKG

2. Take the chance of my CPH-Flight not being further delayed. I am ok with the 45 mins transit, as I have luggage interlined to HKG anyway

Normally I would take the change and be safe to get to HKG. However, this leg will make me Gold with VS and would hate to loose out. (even though I am told that you would be granted the points anyway)...

What would anybody's recommendation be... I need to tell SAS in 30 mins...

Thanks,

Martin

Per Flying Club condition 3.6 (but I don't know if it's applicable)
If you are transferred to another VAA flight or Participating Company airline, which differs from the original issued ticket, the mileage earned on the resulting flight will be credited to your account. However if you are involuntarily transferred to a non-Participating Company airline, you may request Miles for your original VAA booking. In this case you will be required to send in a cover letter to outline the original flight details, along with a copy of your original boarding pass and new ticket details, to your local Flying Club department. Please note that VAA shall not be liable to award Miles where either (i) you voluntarily transfer to a non-Participating Company airline; or (ii) you are transferred to a non-Participating Company airline in circumstances where your original VAA flight is cancelled due to natural disasters/disruption, weather, fire, strikes, war, civil unrest, closed airports, acts of terrorism or any other reason beyond VAA’s reasonable control.

Given you are voluntarily changing I would say unfortunately not... 45 mins should be enough time for the transfer assuming no further delays.

You might want to give VS a call to let them know your predicament though, they should be able to give you a few options.

Good Luck 8D

NB the T&Cs quoted say mileage without mentioning TPs. Not sure how relevant that is.

Not sure what MCT is but 45 mins sounds pretty tight.

But don't forget that SAS flies into and out of T3.

When I had a massive delay (12.5 hours) on a VS flight,in order to make the last connection of the trip, VS transferred me to a BA flight and I got both VS FC miles and TP's as well as BAEC points. Hope all works out for the OP.

i have just noted that in the status update, the VS200 is the only one that has not been asigned A/C nor departure time. Could that mean a delay perhaps?

Looks on time (unfortunately). Since it has 2 destinations the VS website makes you click again for a popup.
