I'm flying out of MAN to MCO on the 10th of March with my family seats booked are upper deck row 78 and flying back MCO to LGW on the 16th of March seats booked row 77 upper deck. It's the new LGW layout and was wondering has anybody flown in this cabin and how are the seats and cabin, is it comfortable as there are 4 in my family and my daughter is only 5 so will she enjoy it? Cheers :D

I can't comment on the cabin layout but I've flown with my kids when they were 7 and 4 and they were great. You get a backpack with colouring in pencils, an activity book which will probably be a bit too old for her, but if you can work out which plane you're on if it's got the latest touchscreen IFE then there is plenty of TV programs and films suitable for her to watch. My two mostly played the games which kept them content for the 9 hours.

One thing Virgin don't do is Fruit Shoots or blackcurrent juice, they only do pure orange/apple or fizzy juice so beware as mine weren't used to it.

We did that route last February in PE and sat upper deck both ways. Our then 4 year old was mostly kept entertained with Disney channel but we also took an ipod touch with some of his favourite films in case.
It was great to have a bit of extra space and very handy having the storage bins so he could help himself to his bits and pieces during the flight, he felf very grown up:) The kids meal was OK, but again we packed some snacks in case he didn't like what they offered.
There is an outlet next to Frankie and Bennys at Gatwick that does a kids packed lunch for you to take onboard, very handy.

On the return journey he slept most of the way.. result !!
Hope that helps.
Have a great trip :)
