I have managed to change my return flight on Friday from the overnight NY slog to straight into MCO.

the plane looks very likely to be a refitted 747

I am in Premium proirities are peace and comfort first then trying to get off the plane ASAP.

so vote now folks....do i stick with the bubble which I love BUT is not split or risk downstairs. No way am i going for the block of 4 but are the pairs ok ? in the past i always felt the legroom was less downstairs than the bubble. Has anyone actually flown both cabins on a refit ?

My wife my parents and I flew downstairs in PE on G-VROM to St Lucia in July we were in row 15 H+K my parents were in 14 H+K row 15 had enough leg room for 6ft me and my parents had even more in 14 due to the bulkhead in front. y)

The downstairs PE cabin didn't feel in any way cramped, as I usually fly ex LHR it was the norm for me. I found it better than the Upstairs in a non refurb.

I can't vouch for upstairs on a refurb.

Hi Hull

So in this case you think the bulkhead row had more legroom than otherwise?
Sometimes the bulkheads can be restrictive because you don't have the seat in front to put your feet under...

My mother who is disabled had no problem stretching out her bad leg (she is 5'11) and Dad had no problems getting past her from the window seat without disturbing her.

Although there is no foot rest on the bulkhead, however on ex LHR flights there have always been purple leather cushions to use in bulkhead and exit row seats, maybe they had not been packed or the crew were unaware of them as G-VROM was the first refurb and had not long been finished.

Were you able to select Row 14 in MMB/OLCI?

No we were unable to select 14 as it has a baby bassinet so we requested it at twilight check in.

Came back on GVAST on Saturday in the PE cabin downstairs the aircarft was GVAST. Had bulkhead seat 14A my wife was 14C there are no foot rests or foot stools. The cabin crew looked but could not find the stools and there was nothing under the seat. Not a pleasent flight could not sleep due to the angle when the seat is reclined.

There should be a large pillow or cushion in a quarter cylinder shape that fits against the bulkhead to use as a foot rest, I'm guessing that they have not been supplied or loaded.

Checked out these on the flight in this morning. Full recline not restricted by the bulkhead. Tried to bag 19a-c but someone beat me to it. Good seats Not sure about 18h-k as thes back on to the toilet and seemed to attract a lot of traffic/waiting.

Went on VS 075 (Ruby Tuesday G-VXLG) on 10/01/13 Still no foot rests in PE bulkhead seats. Told by crew member that they are still wating them after the re-fit.
