another business trip to Boston & for the first time i got to use the re-introduced LBA-LHR connection from BA. If rumours that these were brought in to grab the BMI slots at LHR are true then that would go some way to explain why there were only around 20 pax on board.

The flight time compared to my ususal MAN connector meant i had 5 hours in the CH - a bit much for a regular vistor but when need must i suppose.. :D At least i got to use the breakfast menu for once & the Egg Royale was excellent when washed down with a Redhead.

Boarding UC was left until all the ECON & PE pax were boarded so the gate was empty. This was my second time in the new Dreamsuite & i have to say i have warmed to it a little, the main gripe is still the lack of any real storage space. Interesting that they had reverted to bottles of water being left in the suite as part of prep rather than handing them out after takeoff, although they were just sat loose on the seat side.

Push back on time with 229 pax which is prettty light & a new food menu was a nice surprise - for some of the crew also. If the full menu hasn't been posted yet i'll put it up but for the record i had the smoked duck starter & butternut squash tortellini which were both excellent. Crew were attentive & smiley, the FSM was pretty invisible which seems to be the norm these days. A 7 hour run with a few bumps as we hit the US coast & landing half an hour early saw us through an empty immigration hall & exiting the airport within 30 minutes of touchdown.

One item that made me chuckle - on the menu they have a Baldrick Shiraz which is named after the Blackadder character & the description ends "To partner full-flavoured dishes, with or without a cunning plan" :o)

The water bottles should still be given out after take off as there is no where to securely stow them.

As for the light load, the 330 only holds 266 pax so 229 is not THAT light :P
