The old ottoman only lifted up if it was detached from the suite! The new one has a little storage compartment underneath the cushion. It is not huge, but quite useful.

Not sure if its changed yet but it wasn't certified for storage and was sign on there saying so back last summer!! (of course everyone still did but found it amusing none the less!)

I'll have to say that I also find UCDS a poor effort. I travel LHR BOS route 3 times a year mostly in UC and I will never pay for the UC seat on the 330 again. Apart from losing the quad planes the new cabin is terrible. No overhead bins for the centre seats which caused a few problems as most in UC had two items of hand luggage causing the bins to fill up meaning the cabin crew had to stow the extra bags away from the seat. Another poor design is when in seat there is no arm rest on left hand side so your arm is not supported when seated unlike the old 340/747 seat. Lastly the privacy is somewhat lacking because all I could see were feet & other IFE screens through the glass panels.

Maybe they should rename the DS cabin Premium economy Plus and price accordingly because thats all I value it at. Apologies for the moan but the old seat on a quad 340 was a little bit of luxury & was worth paying the extra for.
