Manchester to Gatwick route

Does anyone know if the Manchester Gatwick route will be resurrected by any other airline when BA stops flying it at the end of March?

Flybe is the rumour I've heard.

Jet2 tried and failed with the MAN>LGW route so I really don't think this is a route that is very economical for airlines.

The few BA flights I'd taken on this route where always less than half full.

Guess I'll have to take the train

Either that or fly to LHR then transfer to LGW either via the direct bus service or via the HEX/GEX service (both of which will actually take longer than the initial flight down to LHR though!!)
