747 conundrum

i have to confess I am an avid bubble fan and like many was severely teed off with the new split and no chance to use seat 80 ever again

i have a mco-lgw flight in a little over 3 weeks in PE and currently have 24A 'reserved'.....the bubble is now fully taken but the lower deck is wide open.

my only priority on the overnight flight is comfort so my question is should i stick with 24 with a definite neighbour and also the seat in front booked ...OR should i get 19a or 18k neither of which (currently) have anyone adjacent or in front, .
these are the seats I normally use on the 340 so I am guessing they will be ok (full recline etc) and I should sacrifice the bubble for comfort ? any thoughts ?

I too was a bubble fan - but on the last MCO/LGW run decided to try the lower deck. I am now converted and would have no hesitation in booking again. We had seats 19A and C coming back - really good with no one poking you in the back. Added bonus of being one of the first ones off at Gatwick!

really not worried about disembarkation speed at the LGW end but yes the fact you have no one behind is nice , especially overnight......Im tending to think 18k might be better as its tucked round the corner from the loo rather than opposite it in 19a

Like you I to am a fan of the bubble. On a recent flight to Cancun I had 24A outbound and 19A inbound, I personally much prferred 24A. Cabin was much quieter and although smaller seemed more spacious than downstairs. With regard to the empty seats, at Cancun airport PE spare seats were being sold for 200 US dollars and it was full downstairs on take off.

As the loo is not separated from the cabin I suppose it depends who uses the loo during the flight and how strong your stomach is :$

19 H or K would definitely not be my first choice of seat!! But then I am just fussy (as Mr B keeps reminding me)

I'm in a similar situation to you, but have opted for 19C over 15K which was the only other seat not directly next to a toilet. MrsB on one of her threads said she had been in those seats and were ok, so I'm going to chance it.

Be interesting to know which other seats in that downstairs cabin people recommend, it's hard to know when you've not been on a re-fit isn't it?!
