Nephew (10) and neice (13) (and hopefully me) are off to see the mouse in 7 days along with their parents.

I would like to give them some cash for spending and wondered what would you recommend for money ?

Give them cash, a pre loaded card or load a disney gift card for them ?

Don't know if children can have pre loaded cards ie visa debit cards which are accepted in disney and other malls etc ?|

Thanks for your knowledge.

As you are (hopefully) going with them why not just take then shopping with you to spend some quality Uncle David time (and raid his wallet) and give their mum and dad a couple of hours quality alone time?

I would put in a vote for cash.... I always think cash is a better gift than a piece of plastic, easier to spend too.. ):

... also may be of more use if they don't spend it all in disney, gives them options to spend back home.

If you are going with them, then I agree with tonty, give the folks a break and take them shopping... of course prepare yourself to watch the contents of your wallet vanish ii)

Other than a bit of guidance in day to day amounts, would say cash. Understanding the use of foreign currency is a good life skill and you would be adding to that experience.

I've just given my two nieces cash ( in $) for their birthdays this last week (10 and 7) and they loved it. We are all going away at Easter to Florida and they are so excited having their own money, so a big vote for cash from me.

Some nice crisp clean dollar bills IMO

Thanks for all the replies.

I must admit, I also like the cash option. When it's gone, it's gone and yes, it should add to their whole experience of his trip.

Many thanks again

David

(And yes, uncle David gets lumped with the odd shopping trip or three :D )
