Hi all,
Just a quick question about the Revivals Lounge.
Does anyone else think this oasis should be advertised more??
I am as fault with it's use as much as anyone.
I land, rush off to car, train, office etc. My last trip back, last month, I decided to stop off, not done for months.
I had a shower, a nice breakfast and a coffee.

I felt so ready for the day afterward. I do remember is days of old that you UC CC used to ask if you was going to use the Lounge on the flight in, not been asked that for years. Are VS trying to restrict it's usage by just not asking???

Interesting question! In one sense, I think yes, because it is such a blessing (esp. if you are not in UC).

But in another sense, no, because it is a small facility and presumably would be totally overwhelmed if all entitled to it used it.

Slightly OT, I do like what they've done in the recent refurbishment of it. It was looking a bit shabby before -- much better now.

Me too. I shall miss it when we do our day flight back from JFK in a few weeks.

Fortunately for me living in London and working from home means straight out, hand luggage only, always hoping IRIS is still working (it is), and into a car to see if I can beat my record of 35 mins from wheels down to keying in the alarm code at home. Revivals is great if you do use it.

For me, it's a great place to shower, have breakfast (and perhaps a little pampering) before heading to the hotel where my room is never ready. At times like that it's easy to drop off my bags and wonder off secure in the knowledge that I'm not mired in filth.

its great if (like me) you have to work the day you arrive.
when not flying UC I also like the Air Canada arrivals via PP. Clean, nice showers, friendly and decent food.

also at LGW the hotel at the north terminal (forgotten name) is excellent ...BUT i just cheked the PP website for its name and its not shown anymore !!!!!! now that will be a big pain

It was the Sofitel lounge y) which was 1st class. I have emailed pp asking them if its been withdrawn so will post reply when it comes.

And yes that will be a huge loss.

Don't know why VS doesn't use this as an official arrivals lounge at LGW after the old one closed. It's a real miss, especially if you have a connection which is a few hours away n(

Hmm, I never knew about the Sofitel, and LGW is where Revivals could come in useful for me - when I'm going straight to work after a holiday flight in Y. Been there, done that, several times and not a very pleasant experience.

I was actually in the Sofitel just after Christmas, (night before a skiing flight), and although there were signs for arriving BA pax, nothing mentioned for Virgin, suggesting that it's no longer an option.

Pity if that's the case... LHR revivals doesn't do much for me, similar to Slinky, I'm only about 40 mins from home, and I'd rather use my own shower any day!

arriving back from our OZ trip Mrs jodash will being going straight to school so the revivals will be a godsend, also on our last trip (Chicago) there was a problem with our ground transport (car broke down) so good place to freshen up and eat

It is a very welcome facility especially for us northerners who have time to kill before getting the BA shuttle to Manchester. Shame that such facilities are not universal, as when arriving on Direct flights into Manchester I still have a few hours drive home.
Getting a shower etc is a very welcome bonus of premium travel.
It seems that these days Virgin Atlantic excel at service on the ground but are beginning to loose the plot in the air! v(

It has been mentioned by a couple of CC to me in the past when taking food orders on the flight. Glad they don't shout it from the roof tops as it is not the largest of spaces.. ii)

Definitely a god send when landing from a night flight and having to face work that day. A fine place to get my faculties together, freshen up and have a good breakfast. It is definitely a treasure.. not too sure about the hidden aspect though 8D

Have used air Canada lounge couple of times post PE from the states, makes priority pass highly worth while. Very friendly/ decent food options and nice showers all within spitting distance of the hell hole that arrivals area is. Found the VS offering good but wouldn't say massively different...

Space, and the queue for the showers might get too long! ii)

Ha ha ha, agreed hazban .... perhaps leave it hidden in the Clubhouse forum for members only ):

That was part of my original post. I used to asked a lot if I was going to use the service, then that all stopped. Not heard it mentioned for a few years now.
After my last visit I will be making time now when I land to give it a visit :D

Ha ha, they are doing a good job at keeping it on the quiet then ):

From memory, I have been given invites at JFK, IAD and HKG... rather sporadic mention in passing, kind of thing, everywhere else. Whenever I get the question if I will be using revivals when I am checking in, I always figured they were just trying to gauge the numbers heading through the doors..

Then again their invites do have a rather clear map on the back of them, so clearly I look like someone who is going to get lost :P

I agree about the Revivals invite. I always thought they checked so the driver would know where and when to pick me up? I haven't had the call in the car from VS to ask how the flight went either.

Reply from PP regarding Sofitel Arrivals lounge at Gatwick

"Dear David
Thank you for your email regarding lounge access for Priority Pass members at Sofitel lounge, London Gatwick.

Unfortunately Priority Pass does not currently have any participating lounges at this location.

Participating lounge information can change on a daily basis and we would therefore encourage you to visit the Priority Pass website at http://www.prioritypass.co.uk to obtain up-to-date lounge information for your chosen airport before you travel.

If however you find yourself at the airport and are unsure of the location of your nearest lounge, don’t worry. Simply text the three letter airport code to UK +44 7624 809 977 and we’ll send you details of all available lounges by return text.

Alternatively if you have an Android, BlackBerry, iPad or iPhone device be sure to download our handy lounge finder app. These clever, free to download apps use GPS technology to work out your current location and then finds the nearest lounge available to Priority Pass members.

I’m sorry that you are unable to use your Priority Pass membership on this occasion, but hope that you will continue to enjoy the benefits of membership in the future.

Kind Regards, "

That's a great pity - not only was the lounge very welcome, the staff were great as well
