Flight was called on time and it was a short walk to the gate. When we got there, we noticed that the arriving passengers were only just getting off the plane – going to be a little late even knowing how quickly LCY can turn around a plane. Watched the plane being turned around before boarding was called. Club on this flight was four rows and there were only four passengers. The price when we booked was cheap and earns us a good number of BA executive club points! EuroTraveller on this flight seemed to be really busy.
Left the gate around 10 minutes late, short taxi and then we were off. Shortly before take-off we were given a bottle of water each, and then after take-off a menu was distributed. On this 38 minute flight the meal this evening was:
Slices of English beef fillet on a beetroot and carrot salad with wasabi dressing
Or
Ploughman’s Lunch plate of scotch quail’s egg, smoked gammon ham and roasted vegetable and feta tart with fig, apple and Bishop’s Finger Ale chutney and piccalilli
Both accompanied by warmed bread and then followed by British cheeses, biscuits and quince jelly and a mini chocolate cup cake.
Served very quickly – had the ploughman’s lunch plate with champagne. Really tasty and a proper meal which I have not had before a short haul Club Europe flight out of LGW or LHR! More champagne was offered when trays were collected and accepted

After we landed we had a 10-15 minute taxi around the airport from the runway to the gate, which was then followed by a 10-15 minute walk from the gate to immigration and baggage reclaim. Its almost 15 years since I have been to Amsterdam and hadn’t remembered how big Schipol airport was! Bags off very quickly and then we headed to the train into Amsterdam.
All in all a really good flight – BA Cityflyer offer a much more enhanced service than BA do on this short hop to Amsterdam, the only downside is the lack of a lounge at LCY before the flight.
