1st time with Virgin

Hi all

1st time flying with Virgin and 1st time posting on this forum so still trying to find my way around

We (hubby & I) are flying to Cancun in September and have upgraded to PE.

Just wondered what seats are best to book and whether to book upstairs or down? (747 LGW config 1)

Also - ?| could be a stupid question.... what is the relevance of SEQ - seen a lot of reference to this in reviews and online checkin but not 100% sure what this means.

Welcome virgin Virgin (or is it Virgin virgin?) - you'll find lots of preferences on the seats in PE with many seeking out the upper deck. Check the Trip Report index under the Toolbox and you'll see many PE reports including several from the refurbished 747s that fly to CUN - that should help.

As for SEQ it means absolutely nothing but is a little game we play. Depending on when you complete online check in (OLCI) your boarding pass has a number on it - SEQ X - where X is the order in which you complete OLCI, so SEQ 1 is the goal for us, fingers poised on mice as T-24 comes around. As I say though, it's absolutely meaningless in the context of the service provided.

As slinky says many people like to sit on the upper deck myself included.
Only done it once and it really was like flying on your own little plane but if you can't get the upper I wouldn't worry too much because downstairs should be nice as all the LGW 747s have been refurbished recently

Anyway AMD, the upstairs cabin gives you an exclusive feel and you get dedicated cabin crew looking after you as well ^)

Just wondering about the dedicated cabin crew. Hasn't that changed now? Have also read they let others off before PE passengers upstairs, is that true?

Also wondered if the 2 back row seats upstairs are good ones A&C 24 they seem to back onto the exit. Would this restrict our recliner space?

Hope I've pasted that correctly.

We like the seats at the back of the various PE cabins; never been an issue reclining. In fact - it means you can recline, guilt free, whenever you want!!

I'm a big fan but haven't used these specific seats yet.

Trying to decide between row 24 upstairs of row 19 downstairs.

Hopefully the others will be taken and we won't have to choose!!
